Archang. et T.N. Taylor (in Ameghiniana 27: 63-73. 1990) was erected to include fossil conifer pollen cones attached to leafy twigs, from the Aptian Anfiteatro de Ticó Formation in Patagonia, Argentina. This conifer was referred to the family Podocarpaceae based on the following vegetative and reproductive characters: leaves helically disposed, lanceolate with abundant papillae and stomata in both epidermis; pollen cones in clusters of three, laterally attached to distal part of twigs and microsporangia containing bisaccate pollen of the Podocarpidites-type. Therefore, we propose to substitute the new name Morenostrobus Del Fueyo, S. Archang. et T. N. Taylor for the illegitimate fossil name Morenoa, and make the new combination Morenostrobus fertilis
