Resumen:
Wood anatomy description of Ribes magellanicum Poir. is given includingits two subspecies. This is the first detailed description of the secondary xylem of aspecies from the South and Central American subgenus Parrilla Jancz. of genus RibesL. Wood anatomy shows typical characters of northern hemisphere Ribes: small vessels,rays of two distinct sizes and scalariform perforation plates.
