Prochilodus lineatus is an important species for commercial and subsistence fisheries. Studies of the reproductive biology of this migratory species are relevant in order to determine future managing plans in different environments. The species possesses a high fecundity with reproductive extensive period (October to January). The objective of the study was to compare the variation in the fecundity between three different environments, the Rivers Bermejo (Salta) and Paraná medio (Entre Ríos) and an El Tunal (Salta) dam in the Argentine northwest. To compare the fecundity to establish differences between places we realized an ANCOVA, considering like independent variable the standard length.
