Resumen:
Catalysts were prepared using Pd(NO3)2 and PdCl2. The prepared catalist were fractioned, one portion was calcined. The effect of reduction temperature on the activity and sulphur resistence during the selective hydrogenation of styrene was evaluated. The catalysts were characterized by chemical analysis and with chemisorption of hydrogen, TPR, DRX, XPS and FTIR-CO techniques. The Pd(NO3)2 prepared catalysts, calcined or not, after being reduced, are present as Pd0 species, and present similar behavior: high catalytic activities; but very low resistance to the poisoning agents. The PdCl2 prepared catalysts, calcined or not, presented moderate activities and high sulphur-resistance after being reduced. The non calcined catalyst presented the higest sulphur-resistance. this behavior may be possible probably due to a combined effect between the electro-deficient Pdd+ superficial species and the metallic atoms located in insaturated positions on the irregularities of the metallic surface (kinks, edges).
