Correlation between angiotensin II type I receptor gene polymorphism with hypertension, myocardial infarction,insulin resistance and cardiovascular disease risk has been reported. The study of RAS regulation sustained that thissystem could be a fundamental participant in metabolic processes and could explain the origin and complications of Metabolic Syndrome (MS). There are limited data available about the genetic MS susceptibility in Argentinapopulation.
