Correlation between angiotensin II type I receptor gene polymorphism with hypertension, myocardial infarction,insulin resistance and cardiovascular disease risk has been reported. The study of RAS regulation sustained that thissystem could be a fundamental participant in metabolic processes and could explain the origin and complications of Metabolic Syndrome (MS). There are limited data available about the genetic MS susceptibility in Argentinapopulation. The aim of this work was to analyze the association between A1166C polymorphism and MS in patients from San Luis.
