The nanostructure of thecomposites was characterized using different spectroscopic techniquesand the degree of reinforcement was approached by a rheologicalanalysis. The aim of the research is the elucidation of the mechanismof interaction between the chitin and the nanofiller. Understandingthe mechanism of this interaction wouldmean a key step towards tailored synthesis of materials with desirable chemical and mechanical properties.
