Resumen:
The Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes Ernesto de la Cárcova was founded in 1921 in the city of Buenos Aires. At the Escuela, painting and sculpture were taught. In 1932, within the framework of a process of reorganization and expansion of the educational offer, new workshops dedicated to the teaching of other disciplines such as engraving were opened. The school was proposed as a culminating level of artistic training to which a few people entered after severe tests and, unlike other spaces, it proposed a mixed education. Particularly in the engraving workshops, there is a large presence of women among the students. In order to reflect on the ways in which they negotiated their entrance to the school and paying particular attention to the frequent tendency to choose to train in graphic techniques, I propose to analyze some significant cases that allow us to observe how, in practice, admission to the school it occurred differently between men and women from a gender perspective. In addition, I seek to advance the understanding of the conditions that operated in the feminization of the student population dedicated to learning engraving in the Escuela Superior.La presentación se realizó en español e inglés (con traducción).
