Resumen:
The aim of this paper is to think about the use of the school notebook as a primary source of research. In the first place, the text offers a revision of recent publications in several countries, which use the school notebook as a source for research, describing which topics have been discussed in the work previously mentioned. In the second place, the paper presents a theoretical view, which considers the school notebook as a dispositive. In this sense, the school notebook is considered as a producer of specific effects: school knowledge. Finally, and from this view, the purpose is to reflect on the attaintments and limits of the different uses of the school notebook as a source for research.
