Resumen:
During the fieldtrip we will examine essentially late Miocene to Holocene continental trace fossils, although the first day we will also see late Miocene marine trace fossils. The first part of the trip will be concentrated on the Miocene-Pliocene Río Negro Formation, which is an ichnological paradise. The formation is superby exposed at the seacliffs for several tens of kilometers and the variety and abundance of trace fossils is amazing. The first stops will be devoted to marine facies and trace fossils of the middle member of the unit. Then we will move to see continental trace fossil at stops located close to the lighthouse (faro in Spanish), near El Cóndor town (Río Negro province).
