Resumen:
PALEOBOTANY records from the Northern Pampa are very scarce and poorly known. 17 Only a palynological study in Paraná Formation (Upper Miocene) was previously done 18 (Anzótegui and Garralla, 1982, 1986). In this work, a systematic description of 19 dinoflagelates, pteridophytes, gimnosperms and angiosperms (including Proteaceae 20 family), found in sediments from the Josefina well (Santa Fe Province), were done 21 (Anzótegui and Garralla, 1982, 1986). The present work introduces the first anatomical and systematic study of a fossil 23 wood found in the Northern Pampa. This finding is particularly significant for future 24 paleobiogeography interpretations about this region and for the occurrence of 25 Proteaceae fossil in the Paraná Basin over the Pleistocene.
