Tolerance of dark septate endophytic fungi (DSE) to agrochemicals in vitro

Darkseptateendophytes(DSE)areaheterogeneousgroupoffungi,mostlybelongingtothePhylumAscomycota,thatareinvolvedinamutualisticsymbiosiswithplantroots.TheaimofthisstudyistoevaluatethebehavioroftwostrainsofDSEisolatedfromwheatrootsoftwocroppingareasintheprovinceofBuenosAires,Argentina,againstsomeagrochemicals.Ofalltheisolatesobtained,twostrainswereidentifiedasAlternariaalternataandCochliobolussp.TheseDSEwerefoundtobetoleranttoglyphosate,carbendazimandcypermethrinwhenevaluatedattherecommendedagronomicdose(AD),2ADand,insomecases,10AD.This work contributes to the study of the biology of this group of fungi and their tolerance in the presence of xenobiotic swidely used in agriculture.
