Resumen:
Planning the management of construction and demolition wastes (C&DW) requires the assessment of generation data for supporting the analysis of available alternatives and determining the required infrastructure. Data collection about composition and generated amounts of C&DW are often performed with indirect methods which requires hardly available local or regional parameters. Aim: To establish a procedure to estimate data about composition and generated amounts of C&DW, and to apply it to the great Mendoza area (Argentina). Methodology: A review of published characterization methods was performed, together with a diagnosis of the situation of C&DW in the municipalities included in the studied area.
