Resumen:
On the occasion of the centenary of The Man Who Was Thursday, the aim of this paper is to suggest the presence of certain medieval influences within it, such as Platonic symbolism and Aristotelian Logics. Chesterton inherited the former from his readings of Chaucer and the latter from his readings of Thomas Aquinas. Taking into account the time in which the novel was written, it seems clear that both aspects provide a contrast to Nietzsche´s philosophy.
