Precision Livestock Farming is set of information technology tools (electronicdevices and algorithms) used to monitor the behaviors of individuals within a cattle. It is based on the recording and analysis of four parameters: the location, the posture and the movements of the animal as well as its jaw movements. Several techniques have been developed to discriminate and to quantify individual feeding behavior (grazing and rumination) providing valuable tools to improve the quality and general safety, animal farming that is efficient butalso sustainable, animal health and well-being, and a small ecological footprint of livestock production.
