Resumen:
Metabolic syndrome (MS) is a global health problem which has been associated with skeletal tissue alterations such as osteopenia and osteoporosis. In dental pulp there are mesenchymal progenitor cells (DPPC), with the capacity to differentiate to several phenotypes. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the MS on DPPC plasticity. A murine model of MS with a high fructose diet was used. The DPPC were extracted from dental pulp of lower incisors and kept in DMEM-20%FBS at 37°C and 5%CO2. Proliferation at 48h (Crystal violet) of the DPPC-MS was lower than in the DPPC-C (p
