Effect of the components of an alginate semi-IPN on its final properties for bone tissue engineering

The polymeric materials of both natural and synthetic origin have been used effectively in the development of biomaterials. Thus, interpenetrating polymer networks (IPN) arise as a combination of two or more polymeric networks synthesized in juxtaposition, forming a three-dimensional structure among the polymers that compose it. This work presents the synthesis, physicochemical and biological characterization of alginate semi-IPN for its application in bone tissue engineering.
