Resumen:
Introduction. Hydroxyapatite (HAP)-containing poly-ε-caprolactone (PCL)-polydiisopropyl fumarate (PDIPF) composite (Blend) was developed as an alternative for bone tissue engineering. The physicochemical, mechanical and biocompatibility properties of these composites were evaluated using two osteoblast-like cell lines (UMR106 and MC3T3E1) and compared with the blend without HAP and PCL/HAP films1. An important requirement for the use of these materials is the low toxic effect that they must possess in-vivo. This study aims to evaluate the toxicity of the films. Materials and methods.  To evaluate the production of proinflammatory cytokines IL-1 and TNF (by ELISA) and NO (by the technique of Greiss) RAW 264.7 cells cultured on membranes for 24, 48 and 72 hours.  Was used as control cells grown on culture dish and as a positive control LPS was added 0.1 ug / ml. Result. There weren´t significative diference in production of NO and cytokines for RAW 264.7 cells between  control and films. Conclusion. The films shown to have low toxic effect showing that they can be used in the area of bone tissue regeneration.   Fernandez JM, Molinuevo MS, Cortizo MS, Cortizo AM.Development of an osteoconductive PCL-PDIPF-hydroxyapatite composite scaffold for bone tissue engineering.
