Resumen:
Ang II receptors are differentially expressed during development and this fact has been related to a potential role of these receptors in development and organogenesis. At present, very little is known about the expression of Ang II receptors in rat cerebellum and brainstem. We have observed a very low expression of Ang II receptors in adult rat cerebellum. In contrast, a high expression of receptors was present in 2-weel old rats. These data were obtained from both membrane preparations and autoradiographical studies. To pursue this analysis, we performed a detailed localization of Ang II receptors using autoradiographic binding. Receptors were labeled with [125I]Sar1Ile8 Ang II, both in the presence and absence of different competitors for either subtype of Ang II receptors: losartan or PD123319. The study was performed at different levels of the brainstem and cerebellum and we thus identified a number of areas. The inferior colicullus, postero dorsal tegemental nucleus and the origin of the trigeminal nerve, were found to express AT2 receptors. The different areas of the cerebellum showed alternatively, both Ang II receptor subtypes.
