Pedagogy is the science and art of teaching.Each generation needs to explore the history, theory, andpractice of the teacher?student interaction. Here we pavethe path to develop a science that explores the cognitiveand physiological processes involved in the human capacityto communicate knowledge through teaching. We reviewexamples from our previous work in this research area anddiscuss a path to reveal the cognitive and cerebral mechanismsby which we teach, unfolding a complex operation such asteaching in its constituents and components.
