Resumen:
The analysis of sea level pressure mean fields of models Echam5 and HadGEM1 represent the mean circulation features as depicted by NCEP reanalysis, considered as observations. The variability of sea level pressure fields was studied applying a Principal Component Analysis to monthly mean sea level pressure fields of the warm (october – march) and cold (april-september) semestres of Echam5 y HadGEM1 model runs and NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data. During the warm semester 3 principal modes are found and identified as patterns A, By C both in the observations and in both models. These patters, are upto certain point, responsable for precipitation in subtropical argentina. Results of scenario A2 for period 2020-2040 are consistent with those found for the 1960-1999 period.C both in the observations and in both models.
