Resumen:
In this paper we present the psychometric properties and initial validation of the alternative inventory measuring the Big-Five factor of International Personality Item Pool (IPIP-Revised). One of its main features is that the scores obtained are free from acquiescence bias. The IPIP-Revised has a simple five-factor structure, satisfactory reliability indices (internal consistency and temporal stability), evidence of concurrent validity with the NEO-FFI scales, gender and age differences between groups, and predictive validity of the frequencies of several categories of specific activities. Results suggest that IPIP-Revised is a valid option to measure personality traits in our population, and that it could be useful as an auxiliary tool in psychological assessment.
