Research and Transfer Centers


In order to make a better and more balanced distribution of human resources and research capacity in all the country, CONICET and different national universities have promoted the creation of Research and Transfer Centers (CIT in Spanish) in places where there is no institution under the scope of the Council.

This initiative encourages the formation and consolidation of research groups oriented to the generation and transfer of knowledge through the active promotion of researchers’ settlement and training of doctoral and postdoctoral scholars. For that reason, there are special calls for settlement and admission to CIT.

From the implementation of this policy, 13 Research and Transfer Centers have been created in different parts of the country. Two centers (CIT Santiago del Estero and CIT Jujuy) had finished their work as their goals were reached. The following table shows the Centers that are currently working:
