R+D Projects


CONICET provides support to research and development by means of projects like original intellectual activities conducted by a group of researchers that include a work method and expenditure budget.

It funds research support activities like scientific and technological conferences, access to information and special publications in order to improve or disseminate developments.

The activities that involve exchanges between Argentine and foreign researchers in International cooperation agreements complement local research activities.

Currently, CONICET finances around 1,850 projects in which there are 70% of the members of the Career of Scientific and Technological Research and most of the doctoral and Postdoctoral scholars.

 

 

Multi-year Research Projects (PIP)

The aim is to organize research work according to objectives of the context, specific goals, activities and budget requirements for three years. These projects are presented at special CONICET calls. They are carried out by groups of 3 and 5 researchers from CONICET and other institutions, scholars and support staff.

Research Projects of Implementation Units (PUE)

The objective is to organize research work according to objectives of the context, specific goals, activities and budget requirements. These projects are presented at special CONICET calls. They last for five years. Unlike other projects, their evaluation starts with the consideration of a Project-Idea. After its approval, the project can be presented as definite application.

Oriented Research Projects (PIO)

They are exclusively part of the subjects jointly prioritized with the institutions that co-finance them. The determined priorities should meet the needs to enhance the knowledge on a certain problem. The PIO comprise a group of researchers, research fellows and support stuff in which at three scientists from CONICET and from the partner institution. The call involves the signature of the Agreement between both institutions. They last for two years.
