Researchers from different human and social disciplines can be called by Justice to lead expert testimonies on the populations and socio-cultural groups that are being investigated. The analysis of the uses and customary practices of different social groups, of conflicts and their forms of resolution, and/or of the institutional logics and routines, among many other issues addressed from Social and Human Sciences provide key elements to understand the different realities that are reached by the administration of Justice.
Thus, for instance, the anthropological expert testimonies provide elements to understand the context and the cultural patterns of various social groups (native peoples, minorities, migrants, etc.) so as to know the logics, relationships and social and material conditions that delimit, verify or enable rights.
In this sense, the expert testimonies led by social researchers can provide central inputs to Justice operators to learn about different aspects of the disputes and conflicts in which they intervene.
