Forensic Genetics


A genetic profile given by the analysis of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) from a biological sample, such as saliva, semen, blood, hair and other tissues, allows the identification of genetic material found in evidence taken at a crime scene or establish biological links between individuals in filiations disputes. It is the modern identification method, which due to its great precision has been called genetic fingerprinting.
