It refers to the interaction between Entomology and the Judicial System. It is divided into three main areas: Urban Entomology, Stored Products and Medico-Legal, Criminal Medicine or “Forensic Medical Entomology.” The latter analyzes the ecological succession of the arthropods that settle in a corpse to determine the time elapsed between the moment of death and the discovery of the corpse, technically known as the Postmortem Interval.
