Resumen:
The use of Linux in providing centralized control in laboratory experiments is analized. The performance of the RT-Linux extension is measured and an alternative implementation for dealing with strict time requirements is proposed. Some options for writing low level drivers for users hardware, graphic interfaces and network access are also evaluated.
