Resumen:
The application of nanotechnology in order to reach goals from medicine has recently been defined as ?nanomedicine?. Nowadays, targeted delivery of drug molecules to specific sites represents a big challenge for researchers in material sciences. A new frontier in the field of biomedical technologies was crossed by the developing of drug delivery devices which attempt to improve the therapeutic effect of drugs mainly by improving their biodistribution and modulating drug release. Considering a potential synergy between polymers and mineral clays the development of a new composite material for drug delivery purposes has attracted the attention of our research group. In this work we synthesize and characterize salicylic acid (AS) loaded drug delivery devices based on polycaprolactone (PCL), poly vinyl alcohol (PVA) and bentonite (BENT) as a preliminary study to obtaining a drug delivery system based on a novel polymeric matrix composite material.
