Resumen:
Conducting polymers (e.g. polyanilline, PANI) could absorb electromagnetic radiation (ER) and convert this energy into heat. Thermosensitive polymers (e.g. poly(N-isopropylacrylamide, PNIPAM) suffer a transition at a determined temperature (lower critical transition temperature, LCST) which involve coil to globule transformation.1 Materials made of a combination of conducting and thermosensitive polymers are studied in this work. Different sizes of materials based on PANI as conductive polymer and PNIPAM as thermosensitive polymer are explored to understand the properties of each component and the synergistic effect of the combination in the same structure. Several examples that confirm the phothothermally trigger collapse are shown.2,3
