Resumen:
In this conference, novel approaches and recent trends in the field of electrospinning and related electrohydrodynamic techniques are presented. A detailed of the electrospinning basis and fundaments are described as well as the more important definitions regarding biomaterials for the obtention of electrospun fibrous mats. The wide variety of applications in materials science and technology are discussed, focusing mainly on the biomedical applications of the presented materials. Finally, a brief description of the current research lines in the Biomedical Polymers Division at INTEMA (UNMdP-CONICET) is given.
