Resumen:
The mucosa is a barrier that protects the body from external agents but reduces theefficiency of medicines [1]. Several untreatable diseases involving this barrier highlight the need to develop novel carriers that promote cargo penetration through the mucosal barrier. In this regard, the higher glutathione (GSH) concentration in the mucosa and the decrease in pH in some pathological conditions can be used to trigger cargo release [2]. This work aims to obtain and characterize redox-responsive nanogels (NGs) by crosslinking polymeric chains via disulfide bonds, using HPC as seeds. The interaction of HPC-based NGs with mucin is investigated under different conditions.
