Resumen:
Thermoresistent bacteria could be used to monitor environmental change produced by the selection pressure of the effluents of the sugar cane process. 252 colonies were isolated from 36 samples in four sites along the effluent channel. The abilities to degrade natural alpha an beta polymers, detergents and antibiotics were tested. by plate analysis. Starch, casein and inulin degradation showed a decreasing profile along the channel (68 to 15 %) on the contrry li´polytic and xylanolytic activities were increased in this way (20 to 80 %). Antibiotic multiresistence profile showed a highest activity in the first place and it is not correlayted with the plasmid presence. the enzymatic activities were confirmed with electrophoretic and zymographic techniques.
