Resumen:
With the description of Brayopsis arequipa, the genus includes a dozen species all except three of which grow in Peru. This novelty differs from its closest relatives by having linear, smooth fruits to 7 mm long, 20−30-ovule ovary, reticulate seeds, purple flowers, and leaves longer than to subequaling the length of fruits plus fruiting pedicels.
