Unusual Nesting Behavior of Crested Caracaras in Central Argentina

Crested Caracara nests in trees. Here we report a breeding attempt started in a nest in a tree. However, the nest fell from the tree during a storm and the breeding Caracaras kept incubating the eggs in the ground. Although the breeding attempt finally failed, it shows the plasticity of this species for breeding.
