Resumen:
The present work develops the design and construction of a gaseous removal from a combustor of solid wastes. This combustor is located in the Industrial Park, San Juan, Argentina. This system is formed by a quench and a gaseous removal dispositive, which consists on a column type spray. The quench has a double function; it cools the gases until the necessary temperature in the scrubber for the absorption reactions, also, it absorbs acid gases (HCl, HF, SO2, etc) and eliminates the fly ash partially. The gaseous flow enters to the spray tower for the bottom of the column, while the alkali solution enters for the superior part, being distributed evenly by sprayers. The height of the column was calculated in order to assure an efficient elimination of the acid gaseous pollutants, with the objective that the gaseous flow is liberated to the atmosphere fulfilling the effective regulatory schemes. The used alkali solution is a solution of the NaHCO3, because the sodium salts present bigger solubility, reactivity and yields; the products of the reactions also present high solubility facilitating their later treatment. The obtained results in the monitoring carried out by Environmental Sub Secretary, dependent of Provincial Government; indicate an efficient operation of the designed system.
