Resumen:
In the context of a world with a scarcity of materials and energythat aims to significantly reduce the amount of waste emitted, this workpresents the study of the thermal decomposition of Rosa rubiginosa rosehip husk waste by slow pyrolysis to obtain experimentalresults on the products obtained and the reactions that occur during theprocess. By thermogravimetry, it was possible to isolate six differentdecomposition steps in the pyrolysis process. Each step was related to thedecomposition of different lignocellulosic components contained in the rosehiphusk waste (RHW). To analyze the products obtained by slow pyrolysis, theexperiment was carried out in a tubular fixed-bed reactor connected to an FTIRspectrometer to measure the absorbance spectra of the gases released (CO, CO2,CH4, C2H4 and CH3OH). The bio-oilwas collected and analyzed by GC-MS. Finally, the solid fraction that remained(biochar) was analyzed by a scanning electron microscope (SEM). This workpresents the basics that are fundamental for the construction of a pilot-scalepyrolysis reactor for the production of products and energy and add value to aresidue that is currently wasted.
