Resumen:
In February (9th-10th), thanks to the support of the British Phycological Society, Ihad the chance to attend the course virtually. It was really interesting and useful. Despite distance, professors were attentive to the students to relinquish any doubt, andthe classes had a wide range of algaculture topics such as; metabolomics, bioinformatics, photobioreactors and other subjects related with algae cultivation. They were two intense, but very satisfying days. Personally, this course helped me a lot. It gave me many tools and training for my research topics. I started being interested in microalgae some years ago, when I was student at CAECE University, in Buenos Aires. Then I moved to Bahía Blanca to fi nish my thesis degree in Biology. After working with freshwater phytoplankton, doing qualitaƟ veand quantitative analysis, in 2019 my group and I were able to determine a Dinofl agellate (Ceratium furcoides) bloom, in Paso delas Piedras Reservoir, which provides waterto the cities of Bahía Blanca and Punta Alta,in the Province of Buenos Aires. After that, I graduated and got a scholarship to do my PhD in Biology in a chemical engineering institute. Nowadays, I am in the third year of the scholarship, and most of my work and activities are focused in the study ofmicroalgae production...
