Resumen:
In this work the authors utilize a dynamical model of the full- scale glycolytic pathway of S. cerevisiae suspended living cells to determinate the optimal concentrations of metabolites to improve the production of a desired product, ethanol, by means of Dynamic Optimization. The model utilized is taken from previous works but modified to allow controlling the mass-flow through the different sub-branches to drive most of the flux to the ethanol branch, without killing the cells or stopping the glycolysis. This is done by increasing or decreasing the rate of the last forward or backward reaction in each sub-branch by means of the constituent metabolites. This work presents the model with the modifications, the dynamic optimization to obtain the best values and the results.
