Resumen:
A rigorous simulator/optimizer has been developed for design and optimization of natural gas processing plants. The simulator embeds different turboexpansion technologies which are represented by binary variables. The simulator/optimizer has been used to obtain both the optimal design and its associated operating conditions. Optimal schemes for processing gases with increasing carbon dioxide content can be readily obtained.
