Resumen:
Dye-clay nano-pigments are considered as a new class of hybrid pigments which combine the good color characteristics of cationic dyes with the good stability and barrier properties of nanoclay. The structural, rheological and fade resistance properties of nanocomposites of a random propylene ethylene copolymer are analyzed considering a small concentration of an organophilic montmorillonite (1 wt%) dyed with an organic dye. It was found that the presence of the dye does not affect the properties of the nanocomposites and that the clay restricts the dye migration, improving the fade resistance of the polymer.
