Resumen:
Objectives: To derive a value set from Uruguayan general population using thenew five level (5L) EQ-5D instrument and report population norms. Methods:We randomly assigned general population individuals to value 10 health statesusing composite Time Trade Off and 7 pairs of health states through DiscreteChoice Experiments. Additionally, respondent provided socidemographic informationand rated their current health state. The sample was stratified using withquotas by location, gender, age and socioeconomic status in order to representthe Uruguayan population structure. Trained interviewers conducted face to faceinterviews using EuroQol valuation technology (EQVT) to administer the protocol,as well as to collect and store the data. Primary analysis used OLS and maximumlikelihood robust regression models with or without interactions Results: Weincluded 794 respondents between 20 and 83 years. Their characteristics were broadly similar to the Uruguayan population. Forty four percent of the subjectsreported no problems on any of the five EQ-5D-5L dimensions. Older respondentsreported more problems in all dimensions. Mean self-reported VAS was 79.63(SE 0.58); it decreased with age and was lower in women. As OLS model showedlogical inconsistencies, robust modelling was chosen to derive social values.Values ranged from -0.264 to 1. States with a misery index=6 had a mean valueof 0.965. When comparing the prediction for a misery index=6 in the Uruguayanpopulation with the Argentinian EQ-5D-5L crosswalk value set, the Uruguay valuesare about 0.05 higher. The mean index value for the general population inUruguay, using the final main effects Uruguayan EQ-5D-5L value set, is 0.895. Ingeneral, older people had worse values and males had slightly better values thanfemales. Conclusions: We derived the EQ-5D-5L Uruguayan value set, the firstin Latin America. These results will help inform de
