Transition metal complexes as catalysts for HER

Our research focuses on the use of pincer ligands to generate different transition metal complexes capable of catalyzing the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). The relevance of this study is based on the fact that hydrogen represents a source of clean and renewable energy.Cyclic voltammetry of Fe and Ni complexes with PNP or PNN pincer ligands was performed, with additions of acid, such as CH3COOH and CF3COOH.The presence of a catalytic wave was evaluated upon the addition of acid.
