Synthesis, Structure, and Reactivity of nitrosyl Pincer-Type Iron Complexes

Herein, we report the synthesis of nitrosyl iron complexes with PNP and PNN pincer-type ligands. The new complexes were fully characterized by multinuclear NMR techniques, FTIR and X-ray diffraction.The cyclic voltammetry of [(tBut-PNP)Fe(CO)(NO)][BF4] was measured. It exhibits two reversible reductions; the first one is at -1,69 V vs Fc+/Fc. The chemical reduction with decamethylcobaltocene was tried and the products were characterizd by IR and NMR.
