Resumen:
In this work the newly emerging ?minimum squared deviations? strategy is improved trying to avoid the plant-wide control oversizing. It is done by considering the problem as a double combinatorial. Hence, the method is extended to give the optimal number of manipulated and controlled variables which are searching simultaneously. The Tennessee Eastman process is used here as case study.
