Resumen:
Dasometric data of 28 plantations from two provinces of Argentina were examinated with the objective to determine the best mathematical model to estimate stem volume of individual trees based on the diameter of the base (stump). To the 555 trees measured, 75% of the sample was destinate to the selection process of the best model and the remaining 25% to the validation process. The accuracy evaluation of the 6 mathematical models examined was made through adjustment statistics. The most reliable estimations were obtained by the models that showed logarithmic expressions in all the variables of the function
