Revision of the Argentine Thelypteridaceae (Pteridophyta). They comprise two genera, Thelyp teris, divided in six subgenera with 33 species, and an introduced genus Macro thelypteris, with only one species. Among these subgenera, Amauropelta seems to be a monophyletic group and it presents several characters that could justify its segregation as a genus. The taxon Cyclosorus sensu A. R. Smith (1971) is divided into Cyclosorus s. str.,with only one species,and Cyclosoriopsis, with 7 species in Argentina. Three new taxa are prof.osded and 5 species are cited for the first time for our country. Synonymies are clarified, one change of status is proposed and legitimate names are applied to species previously cited with erroneous names. The diagnostic characters are analyzed and floristic relations, geographic distribution and some ecological characteristics of the entities are also given.
