Morphoecology of saxatile plants from Cerro de la Ventana, Buenos Ai res Province, Argentina. The morphoecology of species which belong to the families Amaranthaceae, Bromeliaceae, Compositae, Leguminosae and Rosaceae is studied. These are all saxatile plants which grow in different types of rocky outcrops and stony soils of Sierra de la Ventana, a low mountain range that presents sharp variations of altitude, slope and exposi tion. In this study they are grouped according to their life forms and their morphology is described and discussed. The species are then classified into groups in relation to their habi tats. The results indicate that the most frequent adaptative features in them are: slightly xeromorphic leaves, and stems, roots and xilopodia with anomalus secondary growth and early cork. Furthermore some of them have photosynthetic tissue with Kranz and CAM structure, aerophores and other special features.
