  ABSTRACT: The Southern Brazilian species of Thelypteris subg. Amauropelta. In this paper the systematic revision of Thelypteris subg.Amauropelta from the 3 South Brazilian states is given and 20 species are described for this region.   A brief local history of the taxa is presented. The systematic treatment includes a description of the family, keys to the Brazilian genera of Thelypteridaceae and subgenera of Thelypteris, a description of the subgenus Amauropelta and a key for its taxa.   Descriptions, regional synonymies, interspecific relations, illustrations, ecology and geographic distribution for all entities are also given. A new species and seven new combinations are proposed and many names are cited or applied for the first time for plants of this region.
