Resumen:
Precipitation over southern South America is governed by a host of physical, spatial and temporal factors. Nestled between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans and crossed by the Cordillera de los Andes, a high and narrow mountain chain (maximum height: 6,959 meters) oriented North-South. This cordillera leads the main Pacific Semi-permanent Anticyclone westerly flow south-north over the west, and the Atlantic Semi-permanent Anticyclone easterly flow north-south over the eastern part of Southern South America
