Arsenic levels in grape juice from Mendoza, Argentina

Levels of arsenic in grape juices from Mendoza (Argentina) were investigated. Grapes from different viticulture areas of Mendoza were used for comparison of arsenic levels in grape juices. Elemental concentrations were evaluated with HG-AAS technique. Statistical methods were applied for the interpretation of obtained data. Significant differences between the obtained values for arsenic in grapes from Lavalle compared to grapes from San Martín, Junín and Rivadavia indicate that the geochemical arsenic anomalies present in these regions might contribute to some extent to higher arsenic content in analyzed grapes.
